Why Hire Heartfelt Dog Walking?
Hi, I’m Carol Mielke, owner and dog walker at Heartfelt Dog Walking, LLC. As a professional dog walker and graduate of the dogbiz Dog Walking Academy I have made it a priority to educate myself in the best practices of dog walking and positive training methods.
The dog walking industry is largely unregulated which means that anyone can call themselves a dog walker. We know you want the best for your pet and at Heartfelt Dog Walking, our walkers are Professionally Certified and have attended several hours of classes and passed both written and field tests. Walkers are also certified in basic canine first aid and positive dog training methods for dog walkers. Professional dog walkers have learned emergency protocols and are prepared to manage the unpredictable.
Your pet’s wellbeing is our number one priority. We will keep you apprised if we notice anything about your pet’s behavior or health that is out of the ordinary or, if there are any incidents that you should be made aware of.
We promise to always act in a professional manner by showing up at your home as scheduled, treating your personal property with care and securing the home upon leaving. If for any reason, we are unable to meet our scheduled appointment we will give you as much advance notice as possible.
At Heartfelt Dog Walking we are committed to both our human and canine clients. Our objective is to make your life a little easier while providing your dog with exercise, mental stimulation, and fun in a safe and positive manner. You can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your dog is being cared for by someone who is well-trained in all the nuances of dog walking.

My Background
I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and at the age of 22, married, and moved out of the state, eventually I landed in Dallas, Texas. My career has been in accounting and, I have always had a passion for dogs. In 1999 I had an opportunity to volunteer with a local rescue organization that needed help with their accounting. This led to becoming a foster home for the organization which expanded into management. In 2002 I co-founded a non-profit animal rescue organization and served as it's president. During the years that this organization was operating we rehabilitated and rehomed hundreds of dogs and puppies and worked with the community to increase awareness of the importance of spay/neuter and the terrible consequences of animal overpopulation.
In early 2020 I moved back to Wichita to be near my family. Drawing from my experience in animal rescue I made the decision to start a Professional Dog Walking company here in Wichita. I live in West Wichita with my husband. We have two dogs, Ladybird our senior lab-mix girl and Buddy, a young and energetic German shepherd mix. We also have a cockatiel named Skye.
Why I Want to Walk Your Dog
I know people want the best for their dogs and that sometimes, with their busy lives, it’s hard to fit in extended walks with the dog. I also understand how difficult and anxiety producing some dogs can be to walk. I have one of my own that I must continuously work with to keep his reactive tendencies to a minimum while on a leash. Additionally, I have walked hundreds of dogs over the years and am aware of the unexpected situations and pitfalls that can come up while walking a dog. I have the training and the experience to manage the unexpected. I want to walk your dog because there really is nothing better than coming home at the end of a busy day to a happy dog – tired dogs are good dogs – and good dogs are a joy to be around! Please give me a call at (316) 202-9190 and let’s talk about what I can do to make your life a little less hectic.
